Doxey began exploring his love for music when he was very young. At 12 he began learning piano and vocals and since then has added guitar, bass, ukulele, drums and saxophone to his range of instruments.
Doxey has been teaching and directing with School of Rock since 2012 and was a School of Rock Continental Tour Director in 2018. His love for music spans many genres and decades but he loves most of all Funk and Alternative Rock.
Doxey began actively playing in small local bands at the age of 18 and since then has played almost every role in the various bands he was in throughout college and the years that followed. Doxey was the drummer for the Tomball based Jazz Ensemble the Orange Bursts from 2018 -2020 and sang Tenor in the Tomball LSC choir.
Currently he is the keyboardist and backing guitarist for the Houston Tx Funk/Jazz Fusion band Kodon. -
I started my obsession with music when I was 3. I went through school band and high school marching band. I got my first drum set and music became so much more. I started forming bands and playing shows in high school. Sharing the stage with regional and national acts on multiple occasions. I spend years touring, studio sessions and writing music with bands.
Fast forward some years. I built a studio and learned guitar, bass, recording, mixing and mastering. I wrote my own records and helped local bands by working on producing records.
2019 I packed up everything and moved to Houston to start over.
Instructor for drums, guitar and bass.

Annette is a multi-instrumentalist who had her first lessons at 4 years old. Her parents saw her pull the tupperware out from under the kitchen sink to make a DIY drum set, and the rest is history.
Starting with ukulele, Annette went on to learn piano, voice, viola, double bass, guitar, trombone, and drums. She has run open mics, played in bands such as The Electric Sheep (drums), Angela & the Xs (drums), and Branagan (guitar). She's opened for groups like The Ataris, Fea, Off With Their Heads, Girl in a Coma, and many more. She has recorded an album, an EP, and has experience with live sound and studio recording. She enjoys live action role playing, karaoke, camping, writing songs about random things, and making music with found objects.

My musical journey started practically when I gained consciousness. My dad was a radio DJ here in Houston until I was 16, so music has always been a HUGE part and constant in my life. I grew up on the floors of those studios and fell in love with the “back-end” side of music first. I got my first guitar when I was 7 and from there the “Itch” to be one of the bands ON the radio really started. I spent the next 5 years trying to become the next Stevie Ray until I found the drums. My middle and highschool years were spent in garage bands with friends and behind the drumset most days of the week. Right after graduation in 2017, my band Lucid Illusions was formed and that’s where the “real” journey started
Since 2017 I’ve toured through most of the continental united states, recorded 2 studio length albums, opened up for bands like Warrant, Seether, The Sick Puppies, Puddle of Mudd, Bush, ect... and achieved The Houston Chronicles “Best Local band in Houston” award three years in a row. This is all I have ever wanted to do with my life, and being able to express that and teach here at School of Rock has been just as much of a gift to me as it is to the students here. -
Elliott Covington has been involved with School of Rock for several years. He joined School of Rock as a student in 2019, and really enjoyed the experience there.
Elliott was well invested with guitar and rock music in his hometown of San Angelo Texas, but found it hard to find a school that catered to his interest. When he moved to Houston and found a School of Rock. From then on he was able start his musical journey, learning new genres of music and gaining new skills he never thought he could do. Now he hopes to give his students the same opportunities he had when he joined School of Rock. -

Gabriel Medina has been involved with the School Of Rock program for the better part of seven years now and has enjoyed his time in it ever since. As a seasoned performer, Gabriel has had the benefit and honor to play and experiment in the many genres and shows he has been involved in during his time at School of Rock Champion Forest. Gabriel officially started his musical journey in the sixth grade picking up keyboard, primarily because of his love of 8-bit video game obsession. After a short break from the keys, Gabriel would come back to pick up the guitar and from there he took off, it wasn’t very long until he added vocals to his musical ability. Gabriel studied jazz throughout highschool and this has influenced the way he plays guitar, and has benefited him with his improv ability and musical literacy.

As soon as LJ was able to talk, they began singing. LJ was in the car with their mom listening to gospel music, and then heard a song that captured their heart. That is when the love for music was born. LJ's music teachers cultivated that passion. They were in marching band during high school, which opened the door for them to start playing other wind instruments. They were then in the band at Prairie View A&M University, participating in numerous brass ensembles over the years. LJ played trombone in church and directed a wind instrument band there. They grew up performing and exploring various instruments on the church stage. Their love for drums also came from church. The music director and pastor supported their musical creativity.
